Our in-person event is being held at Senates End at 300 Senate Street, Columbia, SC 29201 from 4 PM to 7 PM.

Justice 360 is excited to host its annual summit, highlighting our work representing clients facing extreme criminal sentences. Join us this year for an in-person (with a virtual option) discussion with our attorneys and a reception to follow. Panel speakers will also discuss new developments in execution methods.

2023 Speakers


In this panel discussion, you will hear the stories of Justice 360 clients whose extreme sentences have been reversed and how, through this second chance, these clients have built lives of purpose both in and out of prison.

Lindsey S. Vann, Executive Director, Justice 360

Lindsey Vann joined Justice 360 in 2013 and became Executive Director in 2017 after serving as a Justice 360 Fellow and Staff Attorney. Lindsey is a graduate of Cornell University and the University of Richmond School of Law. Prior to joining Justice 360, Lindsey was a law clerk to the Honorable James R. Spencer in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.


Emily Paavola, Attorney of Counsel, Justice 360 

Emily Paavola joined our organization in 2008, and served as our Executive Director for seven years. She is a graduate of Baylor University and Cornell Law School, and previously served as the first Fellowship Attorney at the Cornell Death Penalty Project.


John Blume, Cornell Death Penalty Project and Co-Founder of Justice 360 

John Blume is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a graduate of Yale Divinity School, and a graduate of Yale Law School. Following several years in private practice, he became the Executive Director of the South Carolina Death Penalty Resource Center (now known as Justice 360).
