H. 3755 Passes Constitutional Law Subcommittee

February 11, 2021 by Alana Jordan

February 11, 2021 –  House Bill H. 3755 – Death by Electrocution or Lethal Injection – passed the Constitutional Law Subcommittee. They gave the bill a favorable report sending it to the full House Judiciary Committee for debate and a vote on whether to send it to the House floor.

H. 3755 proposes to make electrocution the only method for carrying out an execution in South Carolina if the director of the Department of Corrections (SCDC) certifies lethal injection is not “available” at the time a condemned inmate must select an execution method.
Please reach out to your local state Representative and let them know how you feel about H. 3755. See the attached link for a list of the House Judiciary Committee members.
